New Template
It was time for a change. And seeing as how orange is my favorite color this template was the winner!
The Haircut disaster
The other day I cut Cameron's hair, or at least I tried to. I thought I was finished, and Cameron was sure he was finished standing on the chair. So I let him go. But the more I looked at his haircut the more I thought I needed to fix it. So I made him come back and starting to cut again. But oops! I forgot to put the gaurd on the clippers so it was VERY short. Anyway, he essentially got a buzz that day. And he wasn't very happy about it. (Mostly he wasn't happy about how it took me sooooo long to cut his hair.)
Tagged Again!
10 Years Ago:
I was a sophomore at Capital High School. I had a boyfriend named Micah and this time of year I was going skiing for my first time. I had moved back to Boise from Fairfax Viriginia and I spent lots of time talking to my friends back east on AOL. Instant messenger was just taking off.
On My To-Do List:
Short-term:Find babysitters for a CEU course I have to go to for work. Wash the van. Send thank-you cards for the babysitters I had while I was in Seattle. Make cards for card club.
Long-term: Paint my bedroom. Make curtains for my bedroom and the kitchen. (This is a problem because I have no sewing machine.)
5 places that I've lived: Provo, UT (for three months after I was born)
Boise, ID
Fairfax, VA
Pocatello, ID
Kuna, ID
5 jobs I have had:
Dairy Queen (Just your basic run-of-the-mill blizzard maker.)
Clearwater Research (Phone surveys about health insurance.)
Roaring Springs (Revenue Supervisor, 4 summers during college)
Early Learning Center (Daycare at ISU)
Bay Pointe Dental (Where I currently work as a hygienist.)
What I would do if I became a billionaire:
Have babies and travel. (The selfish answer)
Start some foundation to solve some major world problem like illiteracy, violence or hunger. (Unselfish answer) Maybe I could do both.
Bad habits:
Forgetting about the laundry. I constantly drive Richard crazy by taking clothes out of the dryer at 11:00 at night right as he is getting into bed and asking him to help me fold them.
I also ruin a perfectly good story by asking the story-teller totally irrelevent questions about details of the story.
Things I enjoy:
I love to ski, especially at night. I like to scrapbook. I love to think about ways to decorate my house but I never execute them. I love being around people and I like to play games. I love watching my kids try/see something for the first time and really like it. I also love dessert.
Things people don't know about me:
I have a problem with guilt. I feel guilty about things I shouldn't feel guilty about. Last night Richard was doing our taxes and after all the deductions it turned out all we paid in federal income tax was $268. I felt bad about it. I felt bad that all we had contributed to the government was $268. That didn't seem to cover all the things the government does for us. Roads, schools, libraries, military etc. But he reassured me that through other taxes (social security, sales tax, property tax, state income tax) we were doing our part. I also worry excessively about hurting people's feelings. I'm always getting an eye-roll from Richard about some ridiculous thing I am feeling guilty about.
Okay I'll tag Krista and Jodi. Laura you need to get a blog so I can tag you!

SEATTLE!
This is Richard and I with my brother Bryan and his wife Brittany. We ate at a place called Agua Verde. The food was okay but the location was great. You can't tell from the picture but it's right on the water.
This is one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen. It's called the "Gum Wall" by Pike Place. It's just full of people's chewed up gum.
Here is Brittany pretending to put her gum on the wall. We didn't actually want to touch it though.
This is a crazy picture of me in front of the Space Needle. It was the only way to get most of the needle in the picture. It's a good thing Brit is so small so she wouldn't mind people seeing how much she weighs on Jupiter. This is also at the Pacific Science Center.

MORE SEATTLE!
This is Brittany and I at the top of the Space Needle. It was really cold and we were laughing becuase we could see our reflection in the glass and our hair was blowing everywhere.
Downtown Seattle from the top of the space needle.
This is in the Pacific Science Center, Brit is blowing a giant bubble.
We were laughing so hard at this mirror. Everytime we moved a different part of our body was distorted and we would crack up again and again.
These were a few butterflies in the butterfly pavillion. It was really neat, a whole bunch of different, beautiful butterflies just flying all around you. And the flowers in the greenhouse smelled so good.

EVEN MORE SEATTLE!
For those of you who don't know, Richard has been traveling quite a bit the last 9 months or so. It's a long story how it came to be, but he's been mostly in Lewiston Idaho and a few weeks in Seattle here and there. Well I finally got to go with him and I was spoiled! This was part of the hotel 'suite' we stayed in the first night. (Turned out we were in the wrong room but we sure enjoyed it while we could and our room the other two nights was also very nice.) On Monday night his manager took us to dinner at a really nice place called The Metropolitan. I think the meal cost more than my monthly grocery bill, but it was delicious. The best part of all of this? KPMG payed for it all. I won't go so far as to say that my three days in Seattle made up for 17 weeks of travel, but it really was great.
This is at Pike Place Market, the vintage "fish-throwing" image of Seattle.
This was the best cupcake I ever had, called the Royal Raspberry. The little shop makes only cupcakes, and they do it well. Apparently they have quite the reputation.
I love visiting big cities. There are a lot of things about big cities that would make it hard to live in; traffic, homelessness and crime etc. But there are a lot of things I like. I like watching all the different kinds of people. I like how much they love their sports teams and perfect strangers can always have something to talk about..."Pitchers and catchers report on Thursday!" I also like all the opportunities to visit museums and attend cultural events. There were so many things I thought Cameron would love to see/do also.
Here is my touring companion Brittany, my new sister-in-law. Although she is probably considered a local because she and my brother live outside the city.

Can't wait!
I know the boys are still a ways away from actually playing together. But the other day when it was quiet around the house for a few minutes and I found them like this I got excited. I'm sure mothers out there know how the fear settles in during that moment when you think to yourself "It's a little too quiet around here..." That can mean trouble. So I was twice as pleased to find them behaving, together.
Another Snowy Day
The sun came out for a little while yesterday and Cameron was itchin' to go outside. Usually we go out during Eli's nap but I thought that maybe Eli could benefit from a little fresh air too.
Cameron helped me shovel the driveway for a little while, not a very effective shovel though.
Then he decided to try eating snow.
I love this picture of Eli. Most of the time we were outside he just sat in his stroller, ate snacks and soaked it all in. Here he is sitting in the back of the van while I put the stroller away.
This is Cameron splashing in puddles and refusing to come inside.
