In an effort to follow the advice of Dr. Laura to "be my husband's girlfriend" and inspired by NieNie, the hopeless romantic, I bought...
THESE.
Go ahead and ask my sisters if I am the "heels" type.
Well, you don't even have to. I will tell you right here that I have never owned, borrowed or tried on anything like these.
Tonight after putting the boys to bed I shut all the blinds to practice walking in them.
Whoa.
Friday is my office Christmas party and Saturday is Richard's.
I also got a not-so-flattering black dress to go with them. (It was only $10.)
What do you think, bright pink nylons to tie it all together?

Love them! I did that too in attempt to be more stylish and feminine except I went with bright red - I've worn them once :)
Oh my!!! I think I have some horn barrettes that just might complete that outfit!
Ha ha ha ha ha. O my I got a great laugh this moring. Just what I needed. Not that your shoes are laughable but the attempt to wear them. You are brave. I don't think I've worn heels that tall since my wedding. But they were thick so it wasn't too bad to walk in them. I think you need to post the complete outfit/picture!
I think hot pink fish nets will be best to wear. I want to see a picture of the complete outfit with your darling husband too of course.
I love them and Jo you are so cute, you can pull off anything, I bet your 10 dress is beautiful, make sure that you take pictures, Cant wait!
I hope that with those shoes and the blinds closed you did more than just 'practice walking' Keep leaping out of that comfort zone Jo...you may inspire me. :)
I LOVE the shoes! I have a pair of red shoes that I wear quite often to "spice" up an outfit. I'm thinking a red/hot pink scarf or something would be fabulous:)
You are pretty brave Jo. I've never owned, worn or tried on heels either. You will look great.
I love them, Jo! You will look fantastic, I'm sure. As one who has worn heels all her life (5'0"), it just takes practice, practice, practice.
Go Jo!!!! Bright pink fish net stockings would do for the WOWZA factor :)
Oh and we want pictures... :) (and a video of you practicing...)
I'm impressed! I'd be scared as heck to walk in those, but they're way cute!!
How I do love! That is very fun. I love that you practiced walking in them!! I had to do that for junior miss talk about a chore!! Talk to you soon. Kim
JO JO - i would LOVE to see this! i know that you will look adorable! but pink tights?.... i was thinking more like some LIME GREEN- ya know.. for the holidays! :) love you girl can't wait to see the pics!
Being your husband's girlfriend sounds like a good idea... but it also sounds like quite the chore! I can't wait to read the post and see pictures!
I don't ever wear those things either, but my nieces, who do, told me I just need to make sure I keep my knees bent a little while I walk, and i won't look like such a dope. Good luck, I hope you feel sexy in those!
It's amazing what a pair of heels can do for a woman! Your husband won't be able to control himself when he sees you! Maybe you'll have to skip out on the parties! Make sure the kids are at someone elses house!!! (hee, hee!) I want to see the whole outfit. You'll be so stunning!
Okay, I love your shoes and admire your determination to wear them... :) If only Ryan and I were not so close in height, I would follow your lead. ;)
